Things to Do

A Helsinki museum day

Build a flexible museum day around current opening hours, exhibitions and access.

Helsinki

A good Helsinki museum day begins with two or three places you genuinely want to visit. Leave time for travelling, breaks and the exhibitions themselves.

Check opening before building your route

Use each museum’s own website to confirm its current address, opening hours, exhibitions, admission prices and accessibility. Renovations can make an older itinerary unusable.

As checked on 4 November 2026, the National Museum of Finland’s official website says it is closed for renovation and expansion, with reopening estimated for spring 2027. Do not include it as an open stop until the museum confirms reopening.

Keep the day flexible

Choose one main museum, then a nearby second choice. Check whether advance tickets are needed and whether a free-admission period applies to your actual visit. Do not assume museums share a combined ticket.
