Finland’s coast and archipelago offer coastal towns, islands and ferry journeys. Start with one area and a realistic route rather than treating the islands as one continuous road trip.

Choose your base

Decide whether you want a town stay, an island overnight stop or a day excursion. Check distances and accommodation before linking several destinations.

Check every crossing

Ferry services differ in timetable, season, booking rules and charges. Confirm the exact route, travel date and return connection with the operator. Leave time for delays and check traffic notices on the day.

Travel with a backup plan

Keep useful route details available offline and know what to do if you miss a connection. Do not rely on an old timetable screenshot.
