A development-reservation application has been submitted for a floating sauna pavilion at Tervasaari, the City of Helsinki announced on 4 November 2026.

A proposal, not an opening

The plans concern the island’s western edge and include three saunas and supporting facilities. They are due to be discussed with residents at the Tervasaari restaurant on 23 November, 18:00–19:30, Helsinki time.

Decision process ahead

The city expects the reservation application to go to its Urban Environment Committee in early 2027, followed by a reservation decision and a planning-amendment process. No opening date is confirmed in the announcement.
